Kodi is an open-source media player application that connects you to an entertainment media center. This media center has countless hours of media content. This content includes podcasts, music, TV shows, films, sports and live TV. Kodi also works on enhancing its service by seeking constant feedback from its users. You can send feedback on Kodi using Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and more.

Kodi also has third-party addons that you can install from the Kodi repositories. Some of these addons require external sources so you have to get an external link. Installing these addons gives you a larger library for media content. You can also get builds, which are a package of addons and skins for customizations.

In this guide we will discuss how to download one of those addons. This addon is the oath addon. The oath kodi addon is an Exodus fork that offers full Kodi 19 support. This add on is a TV show and movies Kodi addon that scrapes links from the internet to offer you different streaming qualities. This means that the Oath addon does not host or offer its own content. It just scrapes links from other streaming websites.

How to Install the Oath Addon?

The Oath addon is in the Rising Tides repository. This repository contains scraped links and addons to media content including TV shows and film. It was also modified to support Kodi 19.

To install the Oath addon on Kodi, follow these instructions:

  1. Launch your Kodi application and go to the home screen page. Click on the System page which is located at the gear icon in the top left side.
  2. Next, click on File Manager and then select Add Source
  3. Then click on None and enter in https://host505.github.io/ and then hit Done. In the “Enter a name for this media source” box, enter ‘ .oath’ and then click OK.
  4. Once again go to the Kodi home screen and access the Add-ons button. The icon is in the upper left corner of the screen.
  5. Install the Rising Tides repository which contains the Oath add-on. Do so by clicking on Install from Zip File then .oath then repository.host505-x.x.zip. After that, wait for the repository installed icon to pop up. This will appear in the top right corner.
  6. Finally, select ‘Install from Repository’ then select The Oath add on. After that, click on Video Add-ons then The Oath. Hit Install and wait for the Add-on Enabled Notification.

After these steps, you are good to go! You can now launch your Kodi application again and select the Oath addon from the addons section. If you see an error message after a while, it just means that your cache is full. In that case, all you have to do is clear your browser’s cache from your browser’s settings. Also, another solution is to simply try another link because it may have malfunctioned.

Using VPNs with Kodi

While using an application like Kodi, using a VPN is essential. Not only does a VPN protect you from various cyber threats, it also guarantees more streaming content. With an application like Kodi, cyber threats are always present. This is because Kodi uses external sources to scrape links. This means that there are many vulnerabilities present while streaming online from suspicious websites.

To avoid getting malware or viruses onto your device or network, use a VPN. A VPN encrypts your traffic data using military-grade encryption and that secures your identity and safety online. It also uses thousands of servers to alter your IP address. This change is not only useful for safety but also for unlocking geo-restrictions. If you want to stream on a website that only works in the United States, a VPN helps.

For example, if you want to use Hulu because of its vast library of TV shows and original content, connect to a U.S server. This helps you bypass the geo-restrictions and enjoy content from all around the globe. Moreover, the external sources are not always trustworthy; you may face copyright issues or even receive a warning letter from your ISP. Your ISP can track and monitor your online activity through your IP address.

A VPN service changes your IP address so that your information and activities are no longer visible to your ISP. This protects you from IP throttling and bandwidth limitations. It also prevents your ISP from sending you copyright warning letters and possibly get you in trouble with the law. Most reliable VPN services keep no logs; therefore, your data is completely safe and not shared with third parties. This is useful because you can feel free to stream on Kodi without worrying about legal consequences.

Also, reliable VPN services offer optimized servers that specifically work for unlocking geo-restricted content. This means that if you want to access Netflix U.S, Hulu, Amazon Prime and other services, a VPN is the correct option.

VPNs also offer P2P friendly servers which are useful for torrenting. These servers optimize your torrenting experience so that you can use any link you need to download content.

Make sure to always have a VPN on while using applications like Kodi, and keep your kill switch on as well. A kill switch cuts off your internet connection to avoid IP leaks or data breaches if the VPN stops working. This way, a VPN protects you in every way possible while you are surfing online.

Conclusion – The Oath addon for Kodi

Kodi is a reliable media player software that helps connect all your loved media in one center. This center offers external sources and addons to extend the amount of content available.

One of the addons that offer media is the Oath addon. You can get the Oath Kodi addon from the Rising Tide repository. All you have to do is follow a few specific steps to download the repo and addon onto your Kodi application.

Furthermore, make sure to use a VPN service with Kodi. A VPN service secures your connection by encrypting your data and also optimizing your streaming speeds. Moreover, VPNs also have built-in anti malware and ad blockers. These features protect you when you’re online and using external links like the Kodi addons.

Furthermore, you can use VPNs to unblock geo-restricted media content on Kodi. This is because VPNs have countless servers in many regions that allow you to stream from anywhere.
